If the movie has not copyright notice then it's public domain.

Absolutely incorrect. Only the original 3-D version of "Gog" has a copyright notice, but even though the later
2-D derivations lacked the notice, they were covered by the original notice. Several bootlegged films have been uploaded here that lacked copyright notices because they bootleggers had them edited out, and many television versions of feature films have had their titles redone, sometimes lacking a valid notice. None of these films are Public Domain. Lacking the resources of professionals, I asked a trusted source to check on it for me. You responded. Incorrectly.

You pretty much just answered your own question.

Read what you just posted,

"Only the original 3-D version of "Gog" has a copyright notice"

Of course if the original release of this film has a valid copyright notice then it is protected (given it was properly registered and renewed that is).

"bootleggers had them edited out"...right there! If the copyright notices were cut off then how would these even be a valid point?

As someone pointed out in my "It Happened On Fifth Avenue" thread I'm aware of TV versions having redone beginning title cards/credits.

Maybe your question should have been "I have this certain version of "Mutiny In Space" (1965) and it lacks a copyright notice does anybody know if this version is sourced from an original print or does anybody have any info if this was originally released with a lack of a copyright notice?"

Not trying to be rude just pointing out that I was only trying to be helpful and that I'm not incorrect.

(and yes I know, I guess this question is specifically for Video-Cellar anyways and I should mind my own business right?)
